Membership is open until March 30, 2018 in MCLA’s new Instructional Coaching Co-Op. Districts and other organizations with a stake in effective instruction and student proficiency are invited to join us in supporting, expanding, and exploring instructional coaching. Nominate your champion of learning by April 27, 2018! This year’s Curriculum Leader of the Year is Becky Brown, South Portland. Previous recipients are Peter Lancia, Westbrook, Deb McIntyre, Five Town CSD/MSAD 28, Shelly Mogul, Auburn, and Mary Giard, RSU 22. MCLA’s April 2 Certifying Guiding Principles Proficiency day has been cancelled. The current uncertainty about how the legislature’s Education and Cultural Affairs Committee will vote on proficiency-based diplomas makes it necessary for MCLA to cancel our plans for April 2. We want the information and support we provide to be relevant and immediately useful to districts.
